Spring is here in full swing. We love how Spring portrays new beginnings. Fresh floral blooms are sprouting, soft delicate-like breezes float through the air, the world is just full of soft, feminine touches. To celebrate this Springtime season, we are hosting our next style challenge leading straight up to Easter. We can’t wait to see all your pretty and feminine looks. Do you embrace color or keep it neutral? Perhaps just a pop of pink here or there? We want to see! Our challenge will extend through four weeks, carrying us through the month of March. At the end of those four weeks, will will select *three* winners. Participants must be following all hosts & sponsors to have a chance at winning. We will be selecting our winners at random on April 1, 2018. Prizes include: @maileyrose gift card, @dandelionleatherco earrings, and a @jadekaidesigns trucker hat. Style prompts are completely open to your interpretation. Need help with some ideas? Here are some extra tips and suggestions if you’d like a little extra guidance. March 1-7 Pastel Hues: Think blush pinks, periwinkle blues, mint greens, and soft yellows. There are so many delicate shades to choose from. Intimidated by girly colors? Start with your favorite basics, then implement color in little touches like jewelry, shoes or a handbag.
March 8-15 Feel Good Florals: What else could be more appropriate for Spring? Flowers are blooming everywhere we turn, even here in the desert. Floral Spring dresses come in many styles and prints. Soft and mini floral prints are on trend this season, adding a feminine and delicate touch to any piece. Feeling adventurous? Don’t be afraid to mix and match. March 16-23 Pretty In Pink: There are countless shades to choose from. Embrace your femininity with a flirty dress or a sweet blouse. Hot pink trousers? We’re all in. Casually layer with a denim jacket or cardigan for a laid back daytime look. Throw on a blazer and some pumps for an unexpected office look. Heading out? Try a delicate lace top & a leather jacket for the perfect blend of sweet and edgy. March 24-31 Feminine Touches: Girly touches can be added in so many ways. Ideas include elegant lace, colorful hues, soft chiffon, and silky fabrics. Want to make an impact? Try a delicately draped wrapped silk or satin dress. Slip dress styles are all the rage. Prefer to keep it simple? Simply silk or satin tops make a subtle feminine statement, plus pair with dark wash denim and a simple heel or flat to make it more daytime casual.

I am a sucker for a great floral dress, almost as much as I'm a sucker for a dress with pockets. Both need to be done right. Large all-over prints can be overdone on the wrong type of piece. Poorly placed pockets can leave you looking bulky. Nobody wants any of that.
Thankfully, there are design and style experts that are just that... experts! They know just the right prints and pattern placements that leave us swooning. Next thing you know, you've added yet another fabulous piece to your wardrobe. Oops. But it wasn't our fault they make it all utterly irresistible! At least that's what I keep telling myself(& my husband, hehehe)! The older I get, the more I realize that most dresses are too short or too tight, oh man did I just age in that sentence! Obviously I've shifted to shop at different stores, but there are still some super cute items in my closet that I just can't let go of! Instead of tossing them (or donating like I probably should....) I keep them around so I can mix them up. This dress is adorable, but my main issue is that it is so sheer! Here's how I switched it up!
When life gives you lemons, you wear them! It's getting hot here in the desert, and quickly. Today is a rare exception, hello 70 degrees and beautiful. Certainly it's a nice refreshing treat when we are typically beginning our summer-long heat wave. Citrus trees thrive around here, so why not add them to your wardrobe right?
It's that time of year again. Color is literally everywhere you turn. It's the best time of year to try a color you maybe wouldn't typically go for, or stick to a hue you know you love! That's the beauty of fashion, it's entirely up to you!
Easter is just a hop and a skip away. It is now socially acceptable to resemble an Easter egg! Give it a go, you may surprise yourself. Pretty and feminine, it's so hard to go wrong with a good floral print. Spring is such a lovely time of year. Flowers are blooming, everything is full of life and color. Why not let your wardrobe reflect the same? One of the many benefits of floral, it doesn't discriminate! Pretty patterns of roses and wildflowers work on dresses, maxis, and rompers alike.
It's that time of year where spring fluctuates to summer in an instant. I like to take full advantage of the cooler weather before my life is all about sundresses and swim wear!
I love spring inspired maxis and what's better than hibiscus flowers and bright hues. Wrap dresses are so comfortable and flattering on everyone and I'm pretty sure I need more of these for spring! I don't know about you, but I've loved tie-dye since I was a kid. It's was always so much fun to create your own shirts in a bucket in the backyard! Now that I'm older I don't sport the tie-dye shirts as much, but I love finding wardrobe pieces that incorporate the style.
We all know it, Target is a dangerous place. We've all seen the meme... but I was just going for toilet paper OOPS. Target does it again. But who can blame us? Target just does such a phenomenal job keeping their stores stocked with the cutest and most up to date products. It starts with that one item in the dollar section, then of course you just have to browse. Browsing the aisles, in our own happy la la land, next thing you know... You're at the checkout counter with 10+ new items in your cart. Sadly, not all of us have a toddler to blame. For those of you who do, disregard this next statement. *As it is fully acceptable for you to start grabbing items and leaving them any place that is not in your cart or on the conveyor belt.* For the rest of us, its just too much to stand there, under the watchful eyes of the checkout clerks, picking through our beautifully filled cart. You know in your mind you're justifying each purchase. Alas, you close your eyes and go for it only to find your receipt shouting that you just spent $100+. Okay, okay, admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery. But I mean, is it really a problem? Hmmm. Happy Shopping! Here is a look at my current must haves as we transition from Winter to Spring!
