Summer footwear is coming to an end and we are so excited to bust out the booties! Check out our post here for more on that. But, with the world of closed toe shoes coming that means we are enjoying the warm weather shoes a bit longer. It's always pretty cool when we unintentionally have similar styles, and now we can share a bit about our bff tattoos, both of our first ones! For the story read more below! Right after graduating high school Ashley moved to Washington, a place she grew up and loved! After living there for about a year, she injured her right shoulder severely. It was time for her to make a change and move back to Arizona for a short transition before heading to Cali. Alexis, ya know being a best friend and all, volunteered to fly to Washington and then help Ash road trip her life back down south. We spent time touring around the city, of course made sure to visit Pikes, adventured to Snoqualmie Falls, and found ourselves in a gay bar, what was left but getting a first tattoo. We had been talking about it for a couple years and decided that even though our parents might get mad....if our first tattoos were bible verses they couldn't get too upset right? Growing up in a pretty conservative home, tattoos were always labeled as some form of taboo. Neither of my parents have any, and at the time, none of my siblings did either. I have personally always loved and admired tattoos as a form of expression and art. Knowing my parents would not be thrilled. I knew they couldn't be too upset, because, now I always have a piece of God's word with me. Literally, I told them I was walking with God. They were slightly amused at my logic. Phillipeans 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." It is that simple. It is a constant reminder to never give up. That we are capable of great things. Especially with God on our side. I still remember my dad getting his first tattoo, he got a shark on his calf and I always thought it was the coolest, I've always wanted a shark to match, it is my spirit animal after all. But I knew my first tattoo had to be one of my favorite verses.
Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” e•v•e•r•y•w•h•e•r•e It's a constant reminder - be strong - be courageous.
